Bo recently wrote her debut children’s book in Korean and brilliantly translated it into English herself. When she was looking for a partner to handle the copyediting, proofreading and translation into other languages, a colleague recommended Justification. It soon became clear we were a good fit, both sharing a passion for language and enthusiasm to produce the best possible versions of Bo’s novel.

Within our network, we had a French translator who was also a published francophone children’s author. His style was a great match for Bo’s text and he was hired for the translation.

As a member of the Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders (CIEP), Justin carried out the first proofreading of the UK version and sourced CIEP members to copyedit and proofread the US version. 

The book has since been published and includes a mention of Justification in the acknowledgements, which is a real honour.

Bo a récemment écrit son premier livre pour enfants en coréen et l’a elle-même brillamment traduit en anglais. Ensuite, alors qu’elle cherchait un partenaire pour s’occuper de la révision, de la correction d’épreuves et de la traduction dans d’autres langues, un collègue lui a recommandé Justification. Nous avons vite compris que nous étions faits pour nous entendre, partageant une passion commune pour les langues et un enthousiasme pour mettre au point les meilleures versions possibles du roman de Bo.

Au sein de notre réseau, nous avions un traducteur français, également auteur francophone de livres pour enfants. Son style correspondait parfaitement au texte de Bo et nous avons fait appel à lui pour la traduction. 

En tant que membre du Chartered Institute of Editors and Proofreaders (CIEP), Justin a effectué la première relecture de la version britannique et a recruté des membres du CIEP pour réviser et relire la version américaine. 

Le livre est aujourd’hui publié et mentionne Justification dans la section des remerciements, ce qui est un véritable honneur.

• Translation and subtitling into Spanish, French and Russian

The Emilia Group is a sports media and communications agency. We worked with them recently on a subtitling project.

Subtitling is a very specific branch of translation and requires particular skills such as the art of concision, extensive cultural knowledge and attention to detail.

Justification put a team together and supplied subtitle files in different formats. The client had local contacts review the subtitles: who better than in-house experts to verify the translated content? The overall feedback was excellent and the translators implemented any improvements passed on.

The videos are now online for junior tennis players to learn a variety of topics from social media to nutrition.

The Emilia Group est une agence de communication et de médias sportifs. Nous avons récemment travaillé avec eux sur un projet de sous-titrage.

Le sous-titrage est une branche très spécifique de la traduction. Elle exige des compétences bien définies telles que l’art de la concision, des connaissances culturelles approfondies et le souci du détail.

Justification a constitué une équipe et fourni des fichiers de sous-titres dans différents formats. Le client a ensuite demandé à des contacts locaux de réviser les sous-titres : en effet, quelle meilleure option que des experts internes pour vérifier le contenu traduit ? Les retours ont été globalement excellents et les traducteurs ont appliqué toutes les améliorations qui leur ont été suggérées.

Les vidéos sont désormais en ligne et les joueurs de tennis juniors peuvent s’informer sur une variété de sujets allant des réseaux sociaux à la nutrition.

QMS Medicosmetics

QMS Medicosmetics came through a referral. First working with Ana based at the London office, Justification translated packaging and product directions into several languages. Ana has since recommended Justification to other entities in the group including Iconic London and the QMS Medicosmetics in the Netherlands. 

For the latter, we worked on two key assets: the training manual and website into Dutch. By using the same team and applying the style guide and preferences built up over months of translating marketing collateral, Justification was able to deliver a stellar translation of both documents.

QMS Medicosmetics nous a contactés suite à une recommandation. Justification a d’abord travaillé avec Ana, basée au bureau de Londres, en fournissant des traductions d’emballages et de notices d’utilisation des produits en plusieurs langues. Ana a depuis recommandé Justification à d’autres entités du groupe, parmi lesquelles Iconic London et QMS Medicosmetics aux Pays-Bas.

Pour cette dernière, nous avons travaillé sur deux supports clés : le manuel de formation et le site Internet en néerlandais. En faisant appel à la même équipe et en appliquant le guide de style et les préférences terminologiques rassemblées au fil des mois, et des traductions marketing, Justification a été en mesure de fournir une excellente traduction des deux documents.
